- When Don Shipley shoots the guy on the upper level an he falls over the railing the Wilhelm scream sound effect is used it is a stock sound effect first heard in the 1951 film Distant Drums likely voiced by Sheb Wooley. The Wilhelm scream has been used in numerous Movies, TV shows, Cartoons and, even Video Games over the years. It has been used in other episodes of Blindspot as well.
- The Wilhelm scream has become a kind of in-joke in the sound among sound designers.
- It was Named after Private Wilhelm(a Character in the 1953 Western The Charge at Feather River) by Ben Burtt who found it and incorporated it into Star Wars. This was its breakout use.
